LOCAL

Walter Murphy was imprisoned recently by a Madison County Courthouse. He feels like he had been wrongfully accused and decided to write a letter showing his discontent. In this letter he makes the outlandish claim that he intends to kill every Madison County Superior Court Judges. He says he will do so in the same way people were killed in D.C.: by sniper rifles.

STATE

A Bedford judge was found dead recently and the cause is now almost perfectly clear. Judge Richard D. McIntyre was found in a detached garage, killed by carbon monoxide poisoning. The coroner, John Sherill, is now claiming that the death was suicidal. This is a big loss because McIntyre had been a judge for nearly 20 years and was a congressional candidate.

NATIONAL

A boy in Flagstaff, Arizona was left 6 miles short of his stop on the way home from school. The bus driver was a substitute and left the unaware little boy a long walk back to his house. The boy's mother was peeved at the school and now refuses to use school transportation unless drastic changes are made.

WORLD

Russia is banning the German airline, Lufthansa, from flying over them. This will divert all flights to Kazahkstan which is a major inconvenience for the airlines. It will take almost 3 extra hours as well as over 600,000 extra liters of fuel. It is not economically nor environmentally a good move.

ELECTION '08

Barack Obama is losing voters. Since the debates have started between he and Clinton, he has been nothing but timid. His advisors have told him to be more direct with his criticisims, but it hasn't been working. Hilary keeps avoiding her flaws due to Obama's weak attacks. This is causing him to lose voters rapidly and will ultimately defeat him before the election even starts if he can't buck up.

SPORTS

In one of the biggest single games in National Football League history, the hype was lived up to. The Patriots, however, defeated the Colts 24-20. It was a battle back and forth but Manning's turnovers proved to be costly mistakes as the Pats capitalized off both of them with scores. While Brady threw 2 interceptions, his defense added the extra help needed to become the only unbeaten team up to this point.

HEALTH

A student at Pendleton High School was found to have MRSA last week. This worries much of the school board in central Indiana. The principal at PHHS says that the student (who remains unnamed) had recently transferred and it is unlikely that the MRSA was contracted at the school. Regardless though, many parents of Indiana are becoming worried and precautions are being made.

BUSINESS

Alex Rodriguez recently opted out of a healthy salary and contract with the New York Yankees. He was tired of the organization and did not want to be a Yankee any longer. This action will cost him over $70 million and a guaranteed job. While many teams are making offers, he just passed on a $200 million deal with New York. He is now on the free agents list and will remain there until offered a considerable amount of money.

Two weeks ago, Camp Victory was blown up with a missile in Baghdad, Iraq. About a week later, the alleged suspect was caught and is currently being detained. He was found in the Iraq Ministry of Agriculture with 3 cohorts who are fellow terrorists. The four men are now being intensely interrogated and will likely be convicted.

TECHNOLOGY

It's official. The iPhone is the Invention of the Year. It's innovativeness and uniqueness set it apart from all other products of the past 12 months. The iPhone is said to be the pioneer of modern "do-it-all" devices. It is a touch screen that can take care of any media needs you may want. And now that it is in circulation, it is forcing other cell-phone service providers to upgrade their ultimate phone to keep up.
