Jeremy Bishop of Anderson was accused of four different accounts of molestation. He was convicted of molesting two girls, 8 and 7, on more than one occasion. Bishop then threatened to beat the older girl if she ever told anyone about the molestation. She finally told and Bishop is now being held on a $35,000 bail.
STATE
A large tanker truck was carrying 6,000 gallons of liquified hog manure tipped over the other day. Approximately 2,500 gallons spilled out onto the side of Indiana 67. The environmental department said damage to the surrounding area was minimal and most waste will be able to be scooped up and spread across nearby fields as fertilizer.
NATIONAL
A man from Northville Township, Detroit has recently mangled another man's body. Daniel Sorensen was a registered sex offender that had been very "troubled" his entire life. He was then confronted by another individual who took him into the woods. Sorensen was decapitated and the corpse was scorched. The murderer is yet to be discovered.
WORLD
This past Thursday, Yemen tribesmen attacked an oil industry in San'a. This skirmish with government troops left 6 tribesmen and 6 troops dead. This is thought to be the work of Al Qaeda. Attacks like these on Yemen oil has caused oil prices to skyrocket and the country's economy is suffering because of it.
HEALTH
A young girl in Bangalore, India was born with 4 arms and 4 legs recently. She underwent 48 hours of surgery and is now doing very well. Many Indian natives are believing that she was a goddess that had been reincarnated into the form of a child. Her father was nervous about his daughter even before she was born but is now looking forward to seeing her with a normal body.
SPORTS
The Indianapolis Colts suffered another loss this past Sunday against the San Diego Chargers. The Colts looked pitiful as Darren Sproles had both a kick off and punt return for touchdowns. Peyton Manning went on to throw 6 interceptions, but they mounted a comeback late in the second half. The Colts had an opportunity for a last second field goal but Adam Vinatieri missed the 29-yarder, costing them the game.
ELECTION '08
Hillary Clinton has made some bold statements. While Obama was saying that he would raise the income ceiling from $97,000 to $102,000 to increase social security, Clinton is attempting to completely remove the "ceiling." She says if people make that much money, then they are doing well enough to pay a higher tax. She also vows that the government will stop borrowing from the Social Security fund.
BUSINESS
For years the rumors of an Ultralight MacBook was just around the corner. But this year is just like any other: no such luck. However, there are some people highly involved in the Apple company that are now claiming that there should be a brand new product that will blow your mind coming soon. Apple, once again, has people hooked.
AFGHANISTAN
All F-15s in Afghanistan have been grounded. Due to a recent crash, the Air Force has prohibited and United States aircraft to fly to or from Afghanistan. The crash is still under investigation and when that is finished, the planes may be able to take off once again.TECHNOLOGY
The glorious iPhone may be a major problem for Apple. People are beginning to discover that there are very harmful substances in the phone and headphones. When scientists took apart one of these phones, they found excess amounts of Bromine as well as other substances. This could cause major setbacks for Apple and possibly financial problems.
